Two-Storey Gray Cabin On A Beautiful Mountain Ridge
Perched on a mount ridge at an altitude of 750 meters above sea level, this cabin in the Ore Mountains of the Czech republic has a lot of graphic symbol and stands out while at the same time blending into the surroundings quite well, a rather unusual and intriguing philharmonic which Stempel & Tesar Architects worked hard to achieve.
The motel's traditional design and simple form are complemented past large expanses of glass which open up the interior spaces to the panoramic views without compromising the building's insulation. In fact, this is a building which requires very little energy in spite of the extreme conditions it faces.
The internal spaces are organized on two floors, under a gabled roof which ensures a very warm and cozy ambiance upstairs. The common areas share the ground flooring and feature flooring-to-ceiling windows which let in sunlight while besides framing the gorgeous views. The architects as well gave this cabin a wintertime garden which is this covered space that tin can be accessed from the living and dining areas. A large sliding window allows it to be opened up during the summer, seamlessly connecting the indoor and the outdoor spaces.
